We thought we’d give a little attention to the bridesmaids today. Hideous bridesmaids dresses have been the butt of wedding jokes for years, but they don’t have to be! Here are some of our favorite ideas for bridesmaids attire that we would actually like to wear!

1. Patterned Dresses. Bridesmaid dresses don’t have to be solid colors! They look adorable in patterns, as proved by this bridal party and this one.

2. Skirts and Tops. Bridesmaid dresses don’t even have to be dresses! These bridal parties (by Rebekah Westover and Style Me Pretty) look chic in skirts and tops.

3. Cardigans. One of our all-time favorite ideas is different colored cardigans, like this awesome bridal party.

4. Mismatched Dress. Whoever said that bridesmaid dresses have to match? As long as the color and length stay the same, it looks fabulous to let your bridesmaids wear different dresses that reflect their different personalities. Images via Savvy Soirees and Heather Saunders.

6. Cowboy boots. We pretty much love the idea of bridesmaids in cowboy boots! They make for adorable pictures, as shown by this bridal party and this one.

We hope these ideas inspire you to break out of the “bridesmaid dress” mold. We promise you (and your bridesmaids) will be glad you did!

These are all so cute! I love the ones that have patterns! i have to admit that the classic shiny/starchy bridesmaid dress is kinda ugly :O (there I said it)

Oh. MY. GOSH! I LOVE the tops and skirts shots! AHH! I love them both! How awesome! And TOTALLY picturable outside of a wedding!!! Even trendy bridesmaids dresses and difficult to picture outside of the wedding day, but that TOTALLY works! AHHH! Brilliant!

I love the idea of allowing your bridesmaid dresses to be mismatched. This way they can choose a dress style that fits their body type and looks good on them.

These are all fantastic ideas! Funny but I'd never have thought to put bridesmaids in patterned dresses, but I wear them all the time so it's an obvious way to go!
