Today we’re sharing a sweet DIY backyard wedding sent to us by New Orleans photographer Maile Lani. Brandy and Chris met in high school when Brandy came to class late and the only seat left was next to Chris. Seven years later, they got married!

Brandy’s dress was from J.Crew. She also had a second dress–her grandmother’s vintage 1950′s dress that she changed into for the reception.

Brandy’s grandfather pulled his bright red 1957 Chevy into the yard for photos.

The reception space was so beautiful! Brandy used an assortment of vintage china with mismatched cloth napkins and the cutest little white flower napkin rings. She also made colorful bunting banner garlands that she strung up around the tent.

Who would have guessed that sheet cake could be so lovely?

What a sweet wedding with so many great details! To see more, visit Maile’s blog here.

Aww, so cute! THe mismatched china is a neat touch. I have been thinking about doing that as well for myself. One of my clients, 3 yrars ago now, spent about a year with her husband garage saling hunting down nice vintage china to use both for their wedding and as their wedding china for their home after the wedding. I thought it was just lovely then. I think it's a wonderful little trend that's developing.

I'm bummed though that there are no pictures of the bride in her grandmother's dress! What's up with that! :( I'll have to see if there are some on the photographer's blog...
