We love all kinds of weddings: from the crazy colorful ones to the ones that feel calm and harmonious with nature. Today’s beautiful wedding falls into the second category. It’s lovely in it’s simplicity. The outdoor wedding ceremony had an oak tree backdrop that was wrapped with Christmas lights, and it looks so enchanting!

From Hannah: I didn’t grow up daydreaming about what my wedding day would look like. I started the planning process with a blank slate. The inspiration for the day came to us when we saw the venue. We had less than six months to make everything happen and on top of that we were planning the wedding long distance. Oak Tree Manor was the first and only venue we visited. As soon as I saw that oak tree, I knew it would be a beautiful place to be married. Even if that meant we would have to brave the Texas summer heat. We wanted to keep décor to a minimum, so as not to detract from the natural beauty there.

The wedding ceremony in general was my absolute favorite memory. Specifically at the end, walking back down the aisle hand in hand with my husband while “Here Comes the Sun” began playing. My nerves about the ceremony and the day had subsided and the fact that I had just married my best friend became so much more real. That moment was one of the happiest moments of the day for me.

Advice for future brides: There are no rules! As I came to understand that, planning my wedding became much easier. Traditions are great things, but you have to figure out which ones work for you and which ones don’t. Because trying to keep in line with every tradition and rule will make the whole process even more stressful than it already is. Don’t do something a certain way only because you think it’s what you have to do. We decided to just have a maid of honor and a best man. We used succulents as our centerpieces. I didn’t toss the bouquet. This probably would not have worked for another couple, but for us it was perfect. Also, being able to hire a good photographer is priceless!

I Love the blog, it’s not overly wordy and just has the right amount of details and plenty of lovely imagery :-)

I can really get a sense of how Hannah was feeling walking back down the aisle with Mike, so nice to share that moment :-)

Ryan captured the day so eloquently, we totally agree that finding the right photographer is priceless :-)
