There are so many fabulous unique weddings out there that it can be a daunting task figuring out what kind of style/look you want to go for let alone affording the look. Thrifting is a great way to put together your dream wedding on a budget. Not only can you find one of kind items that will make your day stand out, but you can also find things that would normal cost a fortune for a steal of a deal! Hitting up garage sales, thrift shops and online second hand stores are a must for those wanting to DIY their wedding.
When thrifting, don’t expect to find the perfect item straight away, whether you’re searching the online classifieds or walking into your local thrift store. It can take days, weeks, or even longer to find exactly what you are looking for (that’s one great thing about searching online – it’s a lot easier to search through a wide range of items from numerous sellers!) If you aren’t having any luck in person, online auction sites like Quicksales are a great place to find what you need to make your wedding day unique and affordable. The only down side to thrifting is that you will need to be flexible and may have to alter your vision of the exact decor and accessories you wanted for your wedding, but the good news is that your guests won’t know the difference!
When Aileen was planning her wedding she went to tons of thrift stores around the area all the time finding bottles, vases, even a dresser! Use your imagination and start shopping second hand; whether it’s in-store or online—you don’t need to break the bank to have a stunning wedding!
