Robyn and Michael had a rustic, intimate wedding that was overflowing with DIY decor! Here is what Robyn said about her day: michael and i met in germany, live in los angeles but got married in ohio! our story was one of travel, love, and adventure. a former southern boy (huntsville, alabama), mike proposed to me in palm springs on a romantic get-away.
my mother-in-law and father are fantastically creative and talented. our centerpieces consisted of itched love. he asked us what “love is”, what it really means to us. we came up with about 30 “love is..” and he itched those sayings into handmade wood slabs. he made wooden benches for people to sit on during the ceremony, made the arbor for us to get married under out of local trees around the area, the seating card wooden holders, and the robyn/michael wood slab indicating the date of our marriage. he also made the bars for people to enjoy the drinks!
my mother-in-law made every beautiful details – including the programs, bridesmaids bracelets, garland tissue paper decorations, wine-bottle holders, mr/mrs sign at the head table, the flower arrangements for the bridesmaids (bought the seasonal flowers whole-sale), chalkboards, the wood directional signs, and she put together the table arrangements with the centerpieces and burlap. the entire wedding was DYI, from helping put up the tents for the reception and bar area, to the little picture of my mother who has passed that was placed in my flower bouquet. i even had a bracelet with her handwriting on it that i wore. every detail was made with thought and love.
And here is their cute Save the Date!
