Although I live right near the Pacific Ocean, I still take it for  granted. The sound of the breaking wave rolling onto shore, the sand between my toes and then of course all the glorious sea life to be seen. So when I received this ‘classy’ nautical themed styled shoot by the ocean – I was thrilled to be able to share it with you!

Nautical Theme ~ Remarks from photographer

“This editorial was inspired by young love, salty seas, and the California coast! I was so thrilled to collaborate with Colleen of Eventful Wedding Planning to create these images; with a mutual love for vintage and both of us living here on the Central Coast, it wasn’t long before we were on the nautical bandwagon! With Dani and Joe, an adorable real-life couple, I really wanted to create photographs that could be fine art wedding portraits, but also had a young edge.

We had some truly amazing vendors contribute to this shoot, from Chef’s Table creating gorgeous seafood entrees, to Jenny at Cake Cathedral [the Central Coast's 'Ace of Cakes'!] constructing a seriously breathtaking cake, to Ana at The Hair Lounge giving both our model bride and groom some lovely locks.

“The fog that rolled in the day of our shoot was unexpected, but worked completely to our advantage! I realized partway through the shoot that it was a blessing in disguise; not only did it create a romantic mood, but I think it helped even more for us to create inspiration for beach-set brides. I’ve seen so many local weddings where brides are discouraged about the dreary weather, but what better way to show that fog can work to your advantage?”
