From the Wedding to the Home: Part Three
We’ve been having a lot of fun putting together these wedding to home posts. Here are a few more lovely ideas for using wedding decor in your home! For parts one and two, click here and here.
Shutters
For the wedding: Shutters make creative table runners, via Colleen Sherman
In the home: Use the shutters to make an entryway organizer via Martha Stewart or a fabulous shabby-chic headboard via Curbly.
Wine corks:
For the wedding: Cut slits in wine corks and use them as place card holders, via Libellule Gifts
In the home: Turn the corks into a trivet via Craftynest or make a creative corkboard out of them, like this one from Bed Bath & Beyond.
Silverware
For the wedding: Use pretty silverware in your place settings, via Love and Lavender.
In the home: You can still use silverware in place settings of course, but if you have some extra, try making a kitchen clock like this one from Seventh Avenue, or key racks like this one via Design*Sponge!
Cake Stands:
For the wedding: Use footed cake stands to elevate cakes via Love and Lavender
In the home: Use the cake stands as condiment holders via New England Lifestyle, flower arrangements via Martha Stewart, or candle holders via Real Simple.
Wire Baskets:
For the wedding: Use a wire basket to hold cards or programs, via Perched on a Whim.
For the home: Use them to light your yard via Brown Turtleneck Sweater, as a mail holder via My Sweet Savannah, or as a fruit basket via Stock Food.
Mini clothespins:
For the wedding: Mini clothespins make cute and super easy place card holders, via Real Simple
In the home: String some yarn across an empty frame and use the clothespins to clip on pictures, ticket stubs, and cards via Unadventurous Adventures or glue little magnets to the back and use them to organize your fridge, via brionesandco.
love this post so perfect for wedding details and home decor.
such good ideas …love it!
These are some of the cutest ideas! Love them all!
I love these posts! Always great ideas for what to do with left over decorations.
LOVE the last idea – i have a frame, i’m totally making one of those! 🙂
I took a lot of my center pieces (different height hurricane glasses & some shallow ones) and used them in my office & on our mantle. Love having a piece of my wedding day visible in the home we’re making!
Amazing what can be done with a bit of thought and imagination. Really great ideas you have here.
