Rustic Outdoor Wedding at Holland Ranch
Brooke and Mike had a romantic wedding at Holland Ranch that we think is a gem! Melanie Duerkopp captured all their fun details, from the bridesmaid’s attire (cowboy boots are so cute!) and stationery to the beautiful flowers and gorgeous, rustic centerpieces!
Wedding at Holland Ranch
From the bride, Brooke: “Our wedding day was one full of anticipation, excitement, love, family, friends and surprises. The biggest surprise of all being rain. Never in a million years did I believe that it would rain in San Luis Obispo in September on my wedding day.
“With the love and support of my friends, family, fiance, and vendors, I was able to to make some difficult and heartbreaking decisions regarding the set-up of the wedding. We moved the reception dinner inside of the barn instead of outside under the stars. The one thing I was not willing to sacrifice was the outdoor ceremony with the beautiful wooden arch and mountain backdrop. That, after all, was one of the main reasons I chose Holland Ranch.
“With one hour to go before the ceremony I had to make the call. I decided that no matter what, I wanted to get married outside. That meant all of the chairs had to be pulled and my guests would have to stand, potentially in the pouring rain. Luckily I had the most gracious group of guests and they didn’t bat an eye about standing for the ceremony. Even more lucky was the extraordinary break in the rain that kept us dry, and even allowed for a little sun to poke through the clouds during the ceremony. Ironically, one of my favorite highlights of the night was doing our first dance outside, under the stars and in the rain!”
Awesome venue!
Beautiful wedding, amazing location! Floral arrangements and all the detailes are gorgeous! Congratulations!Thank you for sharing!
An awesome event! I kept all the invites/miscellaneous handouts to show my sister-in-law! Then, every table had a card with a ribbon pin to commemorate donations made by the bride and groom to the cancer society in honor of the bride’s late father and one of the bridesmaid’s late husband! A tender touch on an otherwise joyous event! Food was fantastic – downhome and rustic! Ten o’clock snack of grilled cheese and tomato soup poppers! Perfect for the dizzly evening!
