Southern Charm Valentine’s Day

We hope you are ready for a week full of red, pink, and hearts! Valentine’s Day is always a fun holiday to celebrate and in the wedding world it’s a pretty big deal (a lot of people get married or engaged)! To start off the week we will be sharing this fabulous southern charm styled shoot. Here is what C Thompson Photography had to say about it: Our inspiration for this Southern/Vintage styled shoot was love, laughter, & girlfriends.   Nothing beats getting together with girlfriends for brunch to celebrate love for Valentine’s day!  Our table inspiration for 6 is highlighted with lace, red tones,  purple and gold accents.  We wanted to keep some of the traditional Valentine colors, but also add a pop of non-tradition and the purple gave us that pop we were looking for.

We layered the  table with multiple textures, by using  white mesh fabric, topped with red burlap, and then layered white paper doilies to act as a table runner to completed the  look.  The center of our table was lined with gorgeous floral.  Red roses were a must,  mixed with greenery and shades of purple  floral,  all arranged in various milk glass vases. We then topped the table off with a lovely whimsical  DIY ribbon chandelier which flowed in the wind during our shoot.  The table was accented with vintage mix/matched chairs and we used  gold flatware, glitter sprinkled macaroons, & gold ribbon accents in the chandelier, which added such a fun sparkle to our Southern morning brunch.  Each place setting contained triple layered plates with a purple striped napkins and a cardboard heart trinket box wrapped with lace, and ribbon, then topped with a name tag. Inside was a Love necklace; the perfect gift for any girlfriend.

For more of that Southern charm we used mason jars for our milk & cookie display on the dessert table and lined the table with ribbon & lace, with a touch of “XoXo

While I’m normally not drawn to Valentine’s looking weddings, this one was simply wonderful. Mixing the purples with the usual pinks and reds turned it into more than just another Valentine’s celebration. Very beautiful. And while the streamers are great, my favorite has to be the flowers…so pretty!

  7. Just adore the unexpected touch of purple in a Valentine’s set!
