Yellow Barn Wedding
Bride’s Comments: “We were engaged for about 8 months before our wedding day at the Dana Powers House Barn in Nipomo, CA. Throughout the wedding planning process we tried to focus on not just our wedding day, but also preparing for our lifetime together. It was important for us to include our community in the details of our wedding. For example, Adam works at Cal Poly. So at our wedding we served Cal Poly wine, produced by viticulture students. Erin teaches 5th and 6th grade, and her students painted the cards that were framed as table numbers. Our wedding was an all-out celebration of our partnership, community, and future together. It was truly the most special day.”
Advice for Future Brides
“The event will take care of itself – don’t get so caught up in planning the event that you forget why you’re getting married. Take a minute or two away with your new spouse during the reception. Look around at all of your loved ones and all your special details – it really goes by as fast as everyone says. Take the opportunity to celebrate the people that are important to you by involving them in the wedding process and wedding day Surround yourself with the people that you really love. Community is what makes the day all the more special.”
