I love a romantic rustic wedding, especially when you add some gold touches and DIY details. The towering redwood trees of Northern California were the perfect backdrop for this couple’s wedding ceremony. Read what the bride (Alyssa) had to say about her big day in the question and answers among the photos below.
Location: Fairfax, California, United States
Wedding Date: Sep 27, 2013
Bride : Alyssa Nunez
Groom : Steve Silva
What style of wedding did you envision?
Alyssa: “Rustic with a romantic twist. We also wanted everything to feel extremely intimate. We accomplished this by not having a wedding party, so that way the focus was truly on our union. We deeply valued the beauty of that moment.”
How many guests did you invite to your wedding?
“We invited 150 guests to our wedding and we ended up with 125 guests who attended.”
Advice for Aspiring Brides-to-be
“Make a timeline of when you would like to have specific elements of the wedding completed and try your hardest to stick to it. This helped myself and my husband stay organized and created enjoyment around the planning process instead of feeling overwhelmed. Ride the wave and know that one or two things may not work out exactly to plan but in the end it all comes together!”
Overall Budget for the Wedding
“Our wedding budget was set at $30,000. We came in exactly on budget. I was very lucky to not have to cut any corners to save but if I had to say something I would say we saved by only serving wine, beer and champagne.”
Can you share with us a little bit about your Honeymoon?
“We went to Maui for 5 days and Kauai for 5 days. Best honeymoon ever! We left our hearts in Kauai!”
Remarks from the Photographer: “This wedding was completely designed by the bride herself. It was a very simple and elegant wedding that was a perfect reflection of the couple. The whole day was filled with love, laughter, and tears of joy. It was a pleasure to photograph.”
