The sign at the dessert table reads, “Donuts Make People Happy.” Yes they do! Especially when they are part of a wedding at The Barns at Hamilton Station. Along with these tasty chocolate sprinkled treats comes outdoor games and a rustic wedding vibe that we simply love! Gorgeous bride, florals, and fashion all set in a vineyard – what more could you ask for?
Overall theme for Ceremony and Reception
“We didn’t really have a theme per say, but we went with a more earthy feel along with soft romantic colors like blush, gold, green, and ivory. We wanted our wedding to be simple and rustic with a lot of personal touches.”
Describe the Bride’s Attire
My dress was by Sarah Seven (Mademoiselle). My shoes were by Kelly and Katie and I got them for several reasons: they were blush, they were open-toed (for a hot July wedding), and the heel seemed low and solid so it wouldn’t sink into the ground as much.
Any wedding planning tips to share with other brides?
“We got a lot of advice and I’m sure it was great, but I can’t really remember any of it! As for advice I would give another bride, I would tell her that they just need to keep saying to themselves, ‘it will get done, it will get done’ and if it doesn’t get done, it wasn’t meant to be a part of the big day anyways. You will remember all the good things and forget all the items that should have happened if you had more time.”
Did you buy any accessories to wear for your wedding day?
What types of flowers did you have?
Bouquets: white roses, white delphinium, seeded eucalyptus, italian ruscus with peach stock
Boutonnieres: single spray rose ivory with green pittosporum accent (wrapped in twine)
Garland: seed eucalyptus, ivory spray rose accents

Recessional: Gomez/See the World
Tell us about your bridal veil?
“I ordered my veil from Etsy and I loved how simple it was — just some lace around the edges.”
What did you give your bridesmaids as a bridesmaids gift?
“I gave each of my bridesmaids a canvas tote with the word Bridesmaid on it and then filled it with stuff they might need for that day: sunscreen, tissues, lip balm, as well as other odds and ends like a notebook from Rifle Paper Co., a mug from Anthropologie with their first initial, and a picture frame that I told them I would fill with a picture of the two of us from our wedding when we got our pictures back.”
Describe the bridesmaids’ attire
“The bridesmaids selected dresses from Ann Taylor. I told my bridesmaids that as long as they picked a blush color (I think the official color might have been champagne pink) then I was fine with any style. I loved how there was continuity with the color, but they were all different at the same time. I asked them to wear any shoes that were neutral in color that they would be comfortable wearing.”
What did the groom give to his groomsmen as a gift?
“Josh made a wooden box for each groomsmen and stenciled their initials on the top. Inside he put the black tie that each groomsmen was going to wear for the wedding, a cigar, and personalized cigar cutter, an airplane bottle of Jack Daniel’s whiskey, and a silver cigar lighter.”
Describe the Groom’s Attire
“Josh wore a gray suit that we bought from Macy’s (by Bar 3). The white shirt, black tie, shoes, belt, and pocket square were from Banana Republic.”
Describe the Groomsmens’ Attire
“The groomsmen wore the same pants, shirt, and tie as Josh. We just asked them to wear a pair of black shoes that they already owned.”
What wedding favors did you give your guests?
“CDs! We picked 14 love songs (because we were getting married in 2014) and made the CDs and CD covers. It was a ton of work but I think it was worth it. People still tell us that they love the CD and they listen to it all the time.”
What were the highlights from the ceremony and reception?
“Josh says when I was walking down the aisle towards him. I feel like for me it was the first look we did in the grapes vines or right after the ceremony when it was just the two of us for about 2 minutes and we got to look at each other and say,’we did it! we’re married!‘”
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
“We went to Italy and stayed in Tuscany, Florence, Santa Margherita (so we could hike in Cinque Terra), and Venice. I know, I know–we skipped Rome which is crazy!”
