In this article I will review how to order Evermine wedding invitations along with the pros and cons of buying stationery and other personalized wedding products from them.
Evermine was founded by a husband and wife team with graphic design skills; a small business that sought to add value in the niche of personalized products. Today they employs more than 30 people in a 10,000 square foot facility near Portland, Oregon. We love the small scale, family oriented business that Evermine offers as a brand to the market, think there is an upcoming wedding, holiday, or other occasion where you can support them!
Evermine.com is not a pure wedding stationery company like some other online competitors. As you can see from a screenshot of their homepage, they also offer stationery products for birthdays, babies, business cards, special occasions, and even food & beverage labels.
Strong minimalist website design and typography with a standardized layout format for today’s leading ecommerce stores. I like the abundant use of white space that directs the eye to the main menu navigation, where again you have a clean layout utilizing extended menus. You really don’t have to click much to find what you are looking for on their website. And if you need to do a text search, the search box is conveniently located in the top right corner of the header bar.
Invitation Design Choices
As of the date of this article, Evermine.com has 86 wedding invitations available. Such a limited selection compared to competitors could be considered a negative. However, a strong catalog of focused designs seems to work well for them. If you are after floral and vintage designs for your wedding invitations, consider browsing to see if anything catches your eye.
Two designs that my eye was immediately drawn to were a Gatsby themed invite and a chalkboard one. I like the simple black/white/brown colors along with the typography.
Custom Wine Labels
The focus of this article is wedding stationery, but I thought I should point out that Evermine does other personalized labels and products such as custom wine or beer labels. If you are looking for personal touches for your wedding, this could be a good option for you.
In addition, you can choose matching items like save-the-dates, favor labels, coasters, stamps, favor tags, or seals for many of their invitation suites. A great solution to coordinate your entire wedding stationery theme needs.
How to Order Wedding Stationery
Let’s take a look at the ordering process and just how easy it is to order stationery from Evermine. We will continue with a design from above that I liked – the chalkboard themed invite.
Select Your Invitation
With only a small selection of wedding invitations, you don’t really need to make use of the filter options. Simply choose view all from the invitations per page drop down menu and you can scroll through all the invitations in three minutes or less.
Otherwise, you can filter by color, style, season, or shape and sizes. Click on an invitation that you like and you will be able to start the personalization and ordering process.
Quantity, Paper Type and Color
Select how many invitations you need for your wedding. Instead of having to buy unnecessary amounts of stationery, I like the fact that you can choose increments in amounts of five. Some companies only offer larger increments in amounts of 50, or 100.
Next, you will want to choose your color. This is straight forward and you can see the updated color in the preview box that shows an accurate representation of how your selected color will appear.
Before you select your paper, you may want to read our article on how to choose wedding stationery paper. My suggestion is to stick with the recommended paper options – either signature matte white (120 lb. | 16 pt. thickness) or signature textured white (120 lb. | 15.5 pt. thickness).
Order Sample – At this point you could choose to order a FREE sample invitation (within the USA). I like that Evermine offers you up to 6 free samples so that you can ensure your invites are exactly what you want.
Personalize and Edit Text
The personalisation feature is where Evermine sets itself apart in my opinion. The ability to easily personalize and edit text through the intuitive and well designed interface is one of the best that I have come across. When you apply changes, a preview of your wording will automatically appear on screen!
Backside of Invitations – I tested three different wedding invites and each one did not have the ability to add or change a message on the back side of the card from the tab marked BACK.
Note: I did some digging and realized that to change the back of the stationery, you must click on ‘design request’ on the FRONT tab.
There is an added fee for printing on the back (currently $10). Evermine will print a brief amount of text only on the back. Their professional designers will fit the text, and you will need to request a proof in checkout. Finally, be aware that they do not offer refunds for orders with printing on the back!
Complimentary matching white envelopes are included with your stationery. You can add a return address on the flap for an extra charge per envelope ($0.30 as of this article date).
Submit and Review Proof
The final step is to make sure everything looks good. Design review is included for FREE with your purchase. If you are satisfied, simply check the box that indicates you have reviewed your order and then click add to cart.
You can either create an account with Evermine or simply checkout as a guest. Enter your personal information such as name, address, and phone number, then choose your shipping options. I like that standard shipping is a flat $2.99, no matter how much you buy.
I went back and added matching chalkboard thank you cards and favor tags to confirm that shipping is still $2.99! 🙂
Continue to billing and you are on your way to receiving your stationery items!
A standard quantity of 100 wedding invites with minimal alterations will set you back $179. Of course, you can buy matching items or upgrades which will increase the price you pay. Additional matching items are reasonably priced:
100 basic save-the-date cards – $146
100 scallop labels on 5 sheets – $37.46
Evermine promises 100% satisfaction through great service, fast delivery, and outstanding prices. Judging from my own experience coupled with third party reviews, I would agree that they deliver on that promise.
Overall the experience was polished and professional: High quality is evident in their product, easy online ordering is an absolute treat, and fast delivery of your purchase. Now they just need to add more design choices in order to appeal to a wider wedding audience!
