DuCard Vineyards is a boutique winery relatively new to hosting weddings on their estate. Recently they were awarded the Virginia Green Travel Star designation as one of the two “greenest wineries” in Virginia for sustainability practices.
The styled shoot below features a couple who are currently in a dating relationship, but we hope grandma’s heirloom ring is in the near future for them! Inspired by the rich, lush tones of the vineyard and rolling mountains near DuCard’s Gibson Hollow Red property. Thus, a palette of marsala, navy, gold and greenery paired well with Saja Wedding’s classic Grecian inspired dress – featured on the current issue of Southern Bride. The gown was the perfect fit for a stroll in the vineyard.
Sasha Nicholas’ monogrammed gift plates and KK’s Printing and Stationery wooden invitation suite added an elegant touch to the country setting. The re-purposed doors, provided by Main Street Weddings, accented the sustainability aspect of the vineyard and were decadently covered in floral arrangements by Endless Creations.
The Miscellaneous Artist hand crafted the necklace and earrings, with hand cast sterling silver roses, rose leaves forget-me-nots and Swarovski pearls & crystals.
The simplistic eggshell cake by Heavenly Scent Cupcakes & Cakes was adorned by a custom painted topper by Brown & Nash Designs.
With a Virginia love sculpture crafted from navy wine bottles, along with a new covered pavilion, DuCard Vineyards is simply a beautiful spot to host a wedding in spring, summer or during the grape crush time in the fall.
