Joseph & Gianna’s beautiful love story fits our style: 3 months of dating, an engagement, and love at first sight!
The inspiration for their engagement session was a classic love story – they know the kind of love they have is something that some people never have the chance to experience in their lives, and feel lucky to have found each other. I will let the couple tell their story below.
How Gianna and Joseph Met
Gianna and Joseph met on the beach through mutual friends. What could have been just a summer fling turned into the perfect match. Once the connection was made they were inseparable. Since they were an hour and a half away, the first few days was spent on the phone or texting constantly. A first date that was supposed to be in two weeks couldn’t wait that long, Joseph drove down to see Gianna last minute when she got out of work.
“That was the night I met Jameson – Gianna’s dog. I knew she was crazy about her dog and that Jameson ultimately was the deciding factor for this new relationship. Luckily [the dog] liked me, and things kept getting better from there,” remarked Joseph.
“We wanted our pictures to feel like you are reading a love story or a Nicholas Sparks book – you can’t see the characters, but you can use your own imagination to envision them. Pictures let the world see how much we truly are in love. We envisioned dainty, classy, and vintage for myself, and dapper, timeless, and elegant for Joseph. I love Pinterest, so in the months leading up to our engagement session I looked at the inspiration boards of others, and found everything very cookie-cutter,” explains Gianna.
- Tulle skirt – from www.Tobi.com
- Black shirt – an inexpensive find from TJMAXX
- Black heels – her favorite solid black heels that she’s had for years
- Second dress: a black lace dress from Forever 21
Gianna’s advice to other brides shooting for their engagement session or wedding day: choose comfortable heels! “The last thing you want when your taking your photos is to be uncomfortable walking or standing because you can be doing a lot of it to get the perfect shot!”
“While planning a wedding, every dollar counts so I chose pieces I would wear again and were hard on the wallet, if I could tell other brides one thing it is this: you don’t need to spend a million dollars to feel like a million dollars!”
“You want to be comfortable, confident, and yourself in your photos and the outfits I picked were my personality and style. Joseph’s outfits were from Express. His pants, belt, shirt, tie, and sweater all came from his favorite store. Paired with plain black dress shoes that he already had, he looked like quite a handsome stud.”
“We couldn’t help but add our third member of our family – our dog Jameson. We may be biased, but he is the most adorable little guy — especially in a red dog bow tie!”
Gianna’s Wedding Planning Advice
“Our advice to other couples is to relax and have fun. We were definitely a little bit nervous, and a tad camera shy. The experience is so much fun though and you really do feel like a model. Our photographer Emilia made it so relaxing, and she certainly made me feel beautiful. This is a once in a lifetime event, and the happiest time of your lives so relax, and enjoy it. Definitely say I love you to one another, that is why you are there after all!”
