Damascus steel is hand forged with combinations of VG10 and Low Carbon Steel with 67 layers. We oil quench and temper to a hardness of 59-60 Rockwell C. Some of the many Damascus steel advantages include the following: Blade edge resistance from the harder steel, micro serrations from the alternating layers.

Stainless Damascus takes the Damascus blacksmithing to another level as it doesn't rust.

Knives arrived well packaged, however the knives themselves were in a box and had managed to cut through all of the plastic and cardboard they were placed in. Knives are really sharp and the bamboo knife block is great as well. Overall we are very happy with cut quality and appearance.
