Wedding Story

Hannah and Branden got married on a gorgeous Spring day at their local Catholic Church with a rustic barn ceremony to follow.

Bridal Q & A

Q: Tell us about your wedding!

“My favorite color is purple so we just went from there, I just decorated with many different shades of purple. I basically grew up living on my grandparents farm, so having a barn/rustic wedding just seemed liked the perfect reception venue for us. We got married in the Catholic Church I grew up going to since we are both Catholic.”

Q: Let’s talk wedding decor

“I think I just used very simple decorations since the barn itself was so beautiful. Our center pieces were wood slabs with a small lantern, a twine wrapped bottle, and a mason jar for the flowers. I wrapped all the bottles with twine and also stained an old pallet that I hung pictures of us growing up on.”

Q: What were the florals like in your wedding

“The flowers were all different colors of purple. I just showed the florist pictures of what I liked and she put it all together and it turned out very pretty! They were all real flowers.”

Q: Did you personalize the day in any way?

“The cookie table was made by our family and friends. We had a camper Photobooth so the guests could all take fun pictures and have a copy and we had a scrapbook made of the pictures everyone took. My favorite part of the wedding was when I realized I didn’t have to plan anymore lol! But everything was my favorite part, it all went so perfect and the weather turned out beautiful when it was calling for storms all day.”

Q: Let’s talk fashion

“My mom and I were out eating one day and just randomly decided to go dress shopping. I had no idea we were going or what I wanted. But when I tried my dress on I knew that it was the one. I had it 1 1/2 years before my wedding! For the  bridesmaids dresses I just picked a designer I liked and a color and let all the girls pick the style of dress they liked. The boys wore grey tuxs.”

Q: How did you meet?

“Brandon messaged me and  asked me to go to one of his hockey games so I took my cousin with me and we went. After that we hung out all the time and within a month we were officially “boyfriend and “girlfriend” we dated almost 3 years and on vacation in the Outer Banks NC he proposed to me.. it was perfect. His family was going to get “family pictures done” and that’s when it happened”

Q: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?

“The most special moment was when we were officially married. The most anticipated/nerve wracking part was the church ceremony and making sure we did everything right.. since we are Catholic it was a longer ceremony and a lot to remember to do!”

Q: Do you have any advice to share with other couples planning their day?

“With wedding planning, don’t stress too much everything will turn out perfect. I was stressed out the entire week of my wedding because the weather was crappy all week and it was calling for 80% storms all day my wedding day. But it turned out perfect and only sprinkled for maybe 1/2 hour.”
