Wedding Story

Photographer’s Comments: “Jordan and Thomas envisioned their wedding as a rustic fairy tale. They both have favorite Disney movies: hers is Snow White, and his is Beauty and the Beast. Symbolism from both of these movies made their way into their wedding in the most beautiful ways.

“Jordan chose apples for her symbol, and she placed buckets full of apples along the ceremony aisle (which were hand picked from a local orchard with help from her bridesmaids). I loved how her nails were also painted dark red and looked so elegant with her long princess hair that tumbled down over her shoulders.

“Thomas, with his huge Beauty and the Beast red rose tattoo on his forearm, requested that the florist choose the biggest, most perfect single red rose for his boutonniere. They also chose a single red rose for the centerpiece for their head table. The rest of the bouquets were bright cheerful sunflowers mingled with red roses, a perfect nod to the October season.

“There were so many DIY aspects to their wedding. Not content with one guest favor, Jordan made several homemade favors for guests to enjoy: s’mores kits, caramel apples, caramel popcorn, and handmade dog treats.

“This rural, rustic location was important to them, and they maximized it with cowboy boots for the bridal party, a hayride for guests out to the ceremony site, and an actual antique barn for the reception.

“The day started out with very gloomy weather, and arriving at the ceremony site was a bit of a bummer as a cold rain started falling with no shelter in sight. The drizzle eventually tapered off, but it remained dark and cloudy until Jordan and Thomas began their ring exchange.

“At that exact moment, the sun emerged, and by the time they made their processional down the aisle, they were walking away into full sunshine. It really was a fairy tale.”
