Today’s wedding is so gorgeous and full of joy…we know you’re going to love it! There are lots of great DIY details to be inspired by, and it just seems like it was a lot of fun for everyone lucky enough to be invited. From Judith of Velvetine: This wedding was an incredible event of people, friends and family of the bride and groom, working together to create a memorable wedding such as this one. I did all the wedding planning, the styling and the photography. Normally I’m just a photographer, but the bride is a friend of mine so this was a special exception.

Sjoerd Pieter and Anneleen are both Dutch but decided to get married in a country that has a special place in their hearts–South Africa. Anneleen studied at Stellenbosch university and they travelled the country together before they got engaged. They took about 30 people with them to celebrate this life-changing event in a country that is impressive for its nature!

Sjoerd Pieter came riding on a horse to see his bride for the first look, which was so exciting and different! I’ve never seen a couple happier to see each other, with a group of family and friends so excited for them.

The morning of the wedding we DIY’ed the entire wedding with pretty much all of the guests while Sjoerd Pieter and Anneleen tried to relax and prepare for their big day. We cut the ribbons and made the arch, I arranged the flowers, the bouquet and the boutonnière for the groom. We wrote the escort cards, created a special nook for the guestbook (atlas envelopes where guests could put a note in) and created the atmosphere that we wanted – relaxed and casual with a few vintage details.

We had a wonderful day with lots of laughter, good food and fun – we ended the night with a pool party, and everyone got in the pool fully dressed. Even the bride! That’s when you know that you deal with a very unique couple…
