Advertising Options

Our advertising mantra: No more useless ads!

We think contextual advertising and editorial content provides way more value for both the advertisers and readers. Check it out, we even wrote a blog post about it here: Advertising and the Wedding Blog Industry

We don’t like to waste your time and money, nor do we want to annoy our readers with popups or cluttered banner ads all over our website.

Chances are any banner ads you see on our site are for our own companies (e.g., Classic Veils) or native in-content banner affiliate ads for a few select partners that we love. Partners like Minted, Etsy, or David’s Bridal.

Our Main Offer

If you’ve read this far and want to work with us, chances are it will be to create custom editorial content.

We provide clients a way to build incoming links as well as improve search engine optimization (SEO). It could be the answer to maximizing your marketing ROI. More importantly, leverage our team’s writing experience and domain authority (DA) to rank articles in search engines like Google for targeted keywords.

Our advertising options include:

  • Custom content creation
  • Direct advertising in-content
  • Traditional sponsored post

Did you know there’s a list of Top 100 Wedding Blogs?

top 100 wedding blogs thumbnails

Yikes! As an advertiser that is a lot of advertising options.

Make sure you choose a media company who knows what they are doing, and not one who simply accepts your precious marketing dollars.

P.S. Of course, we’re part of that top 100 list!

Custom Editorial Content

What is it?

It can all get a bit confusing discussing various concepts like sponsored content, native ads, and branded ads to name a few. We admit, we’re not experts in terminology either. Mainly because there is no universally accepted definition in the constantly evolving online advertising landscape.

That being said, Love & Lavender’s custom editorial content process involves leveraging factors like our domain authority, knowledge of SEO best practices, along with research and writing ability to rank keyword targeted articles.

Or said simply, we create valuable content that our audience wants to consume!

What does this mean for you?
Think of custom editorial content as an investment. Reap rewards for longer than the usual timeframe of a sponsored post, which usually only gets exposure for a limited timeframe such a week or two.

We know you’ve got ptions for your digital marketing spend. You could pay Adwords, banner ads, other Pay-Per-Click online advertising methods, or a host of additional options. We think our custom content package provides outstanding value.

Terms and pricing for custom content can be discussed directly with Love & Lavender. Please contact us here.

Direct Advertising

In times when every marketing dollar counts, there is real value in allowing specific brands exclusive access to our valueable content. All potential brand advertisers are vetted to ensure quality messaging. We’ve put together a direct advertising in-content offer that includes:

  • Exclusive ad space per post (one advertiser only)
  • Ad placement in two spots
  • Advertise using one ad or two distinct ads
  • Ads are labelled as an “Advertisement” and are not numbered

As they say, pictures are worth a thousand words. Here’s a good example (zoom level out) from a popular post that shows what an ad looks like:

Pricing is variable based on individual post metrics. The monthly spend is supported by existing proprietary data showing strong traffic numbers, clickthrough, and conversion rates. Email us here to inquire about specific direct ad placement opportunities.

Traditional Sponsored Posts

We do offer sponsored posts, but are quite selective as to who we work with.

Sponsored posts just aren’t our thing anymore.

We realize that sponsored posts are geared towards pushing out a brand message to a built-in audience. Love & Lavender has a consistent and growing audience attracted to what we have to offer. For the most part, that doesn’t involve pitching brands we don’t know in an ad-hoc manner.

Online advertising is all about getting the right message in front of the right person at the right time. Unfortunately, the fast paced nature of blogs and traditional sponsored posts means that content lasts for a day to a week on a website homepage before it gets relegated to the archives with all the other articles.

Sure, a sponsored post can still rank high in Google or other search engines and provide additional value beyond initial eyeball exposure. However, the clear focus of a sponsored post is on brand benefits.

Heck, most of the time a lot of blogs that do offer sponsored posts will ask YOU to write the article. Then all they do is edit and post it on their website.

For the above reasons, we like to focus on creating partnerships with our advertisers and thinking about content as a continuum.

FAQ

By results, you likely mean rank #1 in Google for any article we write. Either that or results in the form of guaranteed clicks to your website or offer.

No, we can’t guarantee performance.

Obviously we don’t have the secret key to unlock Google’s algorithm. If we did, we’d be able to rank organically #1 every time … and probably wouldn’t be sharing the secret with anyone! We’d be sitting on a beach in the Mediterranean watching all our highly ranked articles dominate on Google.

“Then Pinky, we can try to take over the world!”

While we can’t guarantee top positions or clicks, our consistent ability to rank articles in Google sets us apart as SEO experts in the wedding industry. And, we’ve got some great examples to prove it.

We want to get this one BIG caveat out of the way upfront: We follow Google’s guidelines and only use “Nofollow” or “rel=sponsored” links within our paid content. Without exception.

We make this point up front so that there is no confusion. Google is quite clear that paid content links should be nofollow, and we listen to their guidance!

“Like most things in life, our pricing structure will seem expensive to some and a good value to others.

”Okay, that answer is a bit philosophical. The truth is that we don’t actively seek sponsored posts, primarily because it does not form the main part of our core business strategy anymore.

“We enjoy researching, writing, and creating content for our authority wedding website. It occupies 95.3% of our available time. For those who do it, you know how much work goes into doing effective keyword research, writing, editing, and graphic elements.

“That being said, we also enjoy working with great brands and individuals. It is great to be able to pick and choose who we work with. Instead of working with a client just for the money, it means we actually want to work with you, and vice versa.

“If you think your brand and our online media platform are a good fit, please reach out. We work with small and large businesses who know the value of creating great content, that ranks organically, and has a backlink strategy to boot.

“If you are not at that level yet, no worries. Reach out in the future and we can have a chat.”
