Rustic Wedding – The Barn at Valhalla in North Carolina
Welcome back from a long and yummy weekend—we hope all your bellies are full of good food! We are starting this week off with a beautiful fall DIY wedding photographed by Blest Photography!
Here is a little tid-bit from the bride: “Michael and I chose The Barn at Valhalla nestled in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, for its romantic and festive charm. Named after the mythical world “Valhalla” where warriors feast and dance after an exhausting day, we embraced this celebration by enhancing the Barn’s rustic allure and reflecting nature’s harvest bounty through flowers, colors and menu choices. We gave a nod to tradition while incorporating unique items to make our guests feel the fun yet deep love between us.
“The centerpieces came from my love of herbs. I love anything in nature that not only smells amazing, but can be eaten too! I wanted almost every part of the wedding to be interactive and thought “live” centerpieces would be great. I swindled and bid my way to buying the antique tea tins on eBay and stopping into every antique store I could find on road trips to obtain them. I went to an amazing herb farm (J&G Herbs) outside of Mebane to buy the USDA organic herbs. I bought golden oregano, pineapple sage basil and rosemary. The people were so amazing. The wooden lanterns were bought from Saveoncraf ts.com. On the other centerpieces, Tre Bella acquired the vintage white milk cups for me.”
