Monique & Christoph

Canadian Cabin in the Woods Wedding

Pemberton, BC

Rustic Whimsical

L&L Remarks

Welcome back to another week on Love and Lavender. We love the bride’s unique gown — with feathers on it! We adore all the extra special details the bride thought of, like handmade glasses for each guest. We also think its super sweet that they got married at Monique’s family cabin where Christoph proposed!

Wedding Story

Photographer’s Remarks: “Christoph and Monique’s wedding was filled with so much warmth and love. They both share an undeniable love that you can’t help but smile in their presence. Monique did an amazing job envisioning and putting together the wedding.

“Her creativity definitely shone through, especially in her dress, her single sunflower bouquet, the ceremony location in the woods, and the cups she made for the reception. Not only did this wedding look good, but it was truly personal and family played a really big role.

“The gold chain necklace Monique wore was from her mom, her pearl bracelet was from her meme (grandma), the flowers at the ceremony were grown by her dad, Rebecca Belisle (her cousin) did her make-up, and the cabin where they got married was Monique’s family’s cabin.

“Their dog, Mexico, even made an appearance or two during the ceremony.

“The portraits and reception were a lot of fun. I was excited to shoot the couple with the purple couch, tall trees, and what seemed like an infinite amount of daisies!

“Their reception was very sweet with everyone getting a different cloth napkin and a handmade cup by Monique. Also, each type of wine had a label with a photo of their engagement session that I shot on it!

“They had mason jars and delicious carrot cake cupcakes as well. All the food was delicious; I especially remember the raspberry, goat cheese salad.

“During the speeches, everyone had incredibly kind and hilarious words to say. Christoph’s parents bought the couple gifts; one being an enormous clock for Monique to make sure that Christoph wakes up on time.

“At the end of the night I felt so lucky to be capturing this very important day in their lives.”
