Wedding Story
Photographer's Remarks We were very fortunate to have met our florist was able to bring Kim's exact vision to life (and everyone knows how pedantic she is!). We wanted the floral design to look and flow organically and naturally, almost as though it was arranged by nature and plucked right out of a whimsical garden. The bouquets, bouts, centerpieces, church, and reception backdrop and sweetheart table florals were packed with beautiful blooming peonies, garden roses, and rananculus in blush, ivory, and coral and made a beautiful day even more amazing. We also had our tea ceremony outdoors in our backyard (putting a modern twist to tradition) where we had a beautiful floral backdrop which brought out the spring time garden feels. Kim was all down for DIY but thank goodness Jeremy was able to convince her otherwise (for just a couple of things!). But together with awesome friends and family, we did manage to have a couple of personalized aspects for the big day:
- Musicwise: the Church Choir sang sweet hymns for us and a our friends played the trio and piano for the ceremony. We also had an awesome jazz band at the reception, where we danced our first dance to the crooning of Kim's brother, and Kim surprised her dad with a sweet fatherdaughter dance to Butterfly Kisses
- Foodwise: all the food at church was prepared by church friends! The wedding cake and all the desserts were all made by Kim's mom and her best friend. Since Kim is from Australia, we also had a handassembled Tim Tam 'cake' which was the highlight of the dessert table!
- Signwise: Kim's dad painstakingly hand wrote all 230 guest names for the table seating chart, and together with some friends, Kim finally used her Cricut to make the welcome sign and all the 'reserved' sign for the church pews
- Decowise: The napkins were all hand folded and favors all hand wrapped by family, and the ring box and table numbers were personalized by Kim's best friend
- Giftwise: Each bridesmaid received a silk robe bought in Hong Kong as well as a blush pink Coach purse; Each groomsmen received a blush pink themed pocket square, tie, and pair of socks as well as a personalized flask
