Wedding Story

Photographer’s Comments

“The style was elegant with colors of white, icy blue, greenery, and accents of gold. It was very important for them to incorporate the prime meaning of becoming one with Christ, so they incorporated a tree ceremony into their marriage ceremony.

“The unity ceremony was the cutest little tree planting.

“For their exit, guests held branches lit up with little led lights.”

Bridal Q & A

Q1: Tell us about your wedding!
“There was not any particular theme that I had in mind, but there was elements that I loved that I wanted to bring together. The style was elegant with colors of white, icy blue, greenery, and accents of gold. It was very important for my husband and I to incorporate the prime meaning of us becoming one with Christ, so we incorporated a tree ceremony that turned out beautifully.”

Q2: Let’s talk wedding decor
“I hired Donna, from Receptions by Design. She took all of my decor pieces that I had picked out from various of places and decorated our venue. We decorated the ceremony and the reception, but really did not have to do much because Hiwassee River Wedding venue is already beautiful as-is.”

Q3: What were the florals like in your wedding?
“Yes, greenery and florals were a big part of the style of my wedding. We had greenery and floral on every table during the reception. During the ceremony we had greenery and floral on our arbor as well. Our colors remained simple, white and green in the floral but the simple colors emphasized the venues natural beauty.”

Q4: Did you personalize the day in any way?
“Yes, we had Somersault String Ensemble which is a string quartet. They played specific songs at specific times during our wedding, to give it a personal and intimate touch. We also had an amazing entertainer, The Million Dolla Man.”

Q5: Let’s talk fashion
“I have always loved elegance, so I new that I wanted to look elegant and feel beautiful on my wedding day. My husband left all of the fashion up to me so I knew he would always look great in blue, so that is why I choose to put him in an indigo blue suit.

“With the elegant style, we chose to incorporate rose gold elements in my earrings and my actual wedding ring, while also having elements dispersed through the wedding decor.”

Q6: How did you meet?
“We meet in high school, yes we are high school sweethearts. He proposed at The Barn At Drewia Hill in April. It was absolutely beautiful with a dinner just for the two of us and it totally caught me by surprise!”

Q7: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your wedding day?
“The most special moment of my day was walking down the aisle and the officiant saying “you are now husband and wife.” At that point you realize that it is official and most of the nerves are gone for that day!”

Q8: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?
“Yes! I high recommend hiring a coordinator and an awesome photographer for the wedding. It makes things so much easier on everyone the day of the wedding for someone else to take care of all of the decorating and planned essentials. I believe that photos are very important for a wedding, the photos are what gets pasted down through generations, you want them to be beautiful.

“I believe what made our wedding so great was the experience. The experience was one like no other, so I encourage other brides and grooms to make their wedding day a true one time experience they will never forget. A big part of the great experience is a huge thanks to our vendors, Bill from Hiwassee River Weddings, Nelya Photography, Impressions Catering, Receptions by Design by Donna, Somersault String Ensemble, and The Million Dollar Man.”
